lets just say for a minute that you have had a cat for a while, and every day he comes in from the dry exterior of the tucson desert to enjoy a fresh can of chicken-gravy-tuna-almost-clear-if-it-werent-for-the-pieces-of-processed-meat cat food. lets then also assume that your parents with whom you reside (because its more fun to spend money on clerks special edition dvd box sets than rent) have left for a week. lets also surmise that on the eve of the third day this feline has relinquished the afore mentioned activity. could one then hypothesize that the cat will be deceased when my, i mean the anonymous' persons parents get back to their dwelling?

also, what should one then do with a dead cat. stick it in the outside cooler till the family is back to give it a proper burial service?

ive been keeping a tour journal this time. a co-worker gave it to me with the instructions "you better write in this" abbrasively commanding the cover. so naturally, i have. in the process, ive developed a longing for someone to respond to my entries.

without any more explination, i would like t announce my return to livejournal.

...

unless of course, my computer is still without internet when i get home.

which brings me to my next point. chris coco or trevor, i would appreciate it if one of the two of you would give an attempt to deciferring this riddle for me. its recieving a signal, but not connecting. if you want to, go ahead and go to my room and turn the old dinosaur on and see what you can do.

so now with respect to all good sci-fi films, ill leave you all on edge. because the continuation of this trend is now a question... will i indeed return?

im becoming bitter and quickly loosing trust in most humans. this really isnt the direction i wanted to go in life.

if part of growing up is loosing your youthful idealism, and submitting to the inefficient social structure, than my whole personality would have to change for me to be "fully grown". this is something ive never wanted. instead, i want to stay the studded belt wearing karl marx quotting teenager i was after only a year or so of embracing punk rock.

but right now, i feel completely brought down by society. the struggles ive faced have put me in a situation where money has burdened friendships. capitalism at its most insidious moment.

and there is a bitter taste of distrust in my mouth.... with after effects left only by females.

none of this is what i ever wanted.

my expiramentation in simplicity, though recently has seen less impact in my daily routtine, has proven fairly succesful. for exapmle, since ive moved out, ive had to cook for myself. the first couple weeks, i did the whole "fast food is my diet" thing, and while i did eat alot less, food was only a necessity, and not something i thought very enjoyable. i decided, since i worked at a resaraunt and knew a little about cooking, id start to make my own food. the reasons were because the amount of drive-thru pasta joints are insuffecient, and not my anti-corporate self counter culture... not to say that that is gone or something.

after weeks, and fine tuning my cooking skills, i enjoy the entire process. even to the point where i would like to start growing some of the ingredients on my own.

the point is, when i embrace a needed activity as an opportunity to cherish, as opposed to an unfortunate obligation, the product is better, and my over all mood is more pleasant.

id like to incorporate this into more of my life... but nothing on this earth will make me enjoy the telephone.

...or grocery stores, there are just too many people.

so, in provo we arrived, and typical pre-show stuff happened. the first
band went on, which was a slightly over weight jock type guy that didnt
know how to tune his guitar. he brought 6 people in, played about 10
songs, and told really lame stories about them in between... and these
werent even lame anecdotes, they were... what the songs were written
about.

he finished, and the crowd that he brought stayed until the first
scream of the next band, and realized this wasnt a group of kids who
liked dave mathews, so they left as well.

and now there were three touring bands plaing to... three touring
bands. but it became one of the most fun shows on the tour. everyone
played well, goofed off, and made so many jokes at the expense of the
local guy he would have probably hit someone had he still been there.

we then finished the show with the last band convering op ivy.

also notable is the fact that physically this was the coolest venue ever.

but back on track, the show ended and all the bands became instant friends. so we went to dennys!

i expect by the end of the month every person in that phot has
eachother added on myspace. good luck to everyone in preston and easton
legacy.

then we made the drive to grand junction colorado, where we had the
best turn out all tour. we played a good set and sold alot of merch.
some kid told us we changed his life... in so many words.

but sam eagon fell asleep on the floor.

and after that we headed home.
jake took all the show photography

i think ill end this story with a very self explanitory picture.

here is round two of tour photos:

every time we did anything, it was a rigourous task of using the trailer.

this was probably taken before our second california show, in pomona.
the show was with desert city soundtrakc and settlefish, two bands we
all love and had played with our last night in tucson. it seems that
the show was very well promoted, when it was still at its original
venue, the tiki room. but when we got there they moved it to the vault,
where nobody came because they either didnt know, or werent allowed
because it was an 18 and older venue. this was all news to us upon
arrival.

so the show sucked, and we had to play with one of the crappy bands
from the previus show in little tokyo. the two deep elm bands didnt
even finish setting up before calling it quits.

then we fooled around on the beach our last night in california.

and i can now show the whole story

sam and jake skating down the street in the neighborhood we stayed in
when we were in california.we stayed at this ladies house in dana
point, which apparently was the near orange county, only a more upscale
version.

before tour sam got a nasty sunburn

the first night we were there we played a venue in little tokyo called
the cocaine. it turned out to be way lame. none of the kids stuck
around to even give us a chance, the room sounded terrible, and we had
to sit through a horrible sass band, and another typical sounding band.
but we met this one kid from texas, and played with his band, secret
handsake. they are very good and in the same style as the postal
service.

we went to the grossest beach ever

jake, sam and i waited at the car while ian petie and sam eagon stared at the gross "lake beach" for forever

then we went to a real beach
